Everyone knows that fish is good for you. And 'low in saturated fatty acids, and is intelligent. So it's no wonder consumers are sinking fish food warning titles for feeling confused.

End of 2002, warned in San Francisco Chronicle entitled, may be dangerous to eat fish, because the high content of mercury in some deep-sea fish. A doctor in Northern California had discovered that wealthy individuals eating expensive fish such as swordfish and tuna sitting in the sameRisk for mercury poisoning - even as they tried to eat healthy.

In one case a woman suffered hair loss and high levels of mercury in the blood. This led Dr. M. Jane Hightower, a fish expert in internal medicine at San Francisco, California Pacific Medical Center, in order for the answers.

Hightower of patients studied, the lots were full and ate gourmet fish - swordfish, sea bass, halibut and ahi tuna. They found that patients often ate these fish orexperienced symptoms of mercury exposure (fatigue, headache, joint pain and impaired memory and concentration), was unacceptable concentrations of mercury in the blood.

Hightower retested these patients after the suspicion of fish which included six months. High levels of mercury disappeared. Not surprisingly, the FDA issued warnings about high levels of mercury for some of these fish.

The fish is tasty - and healthy

Fish is naturally low in cholesterol and has beenthe protein of choice for cardiologists and weight-conscious Americans. It 'a great source of omega-3 fatty acids shown to reduce the risk of heart disease by lowering cholesterol and the stickiness of blood platelets.
This means that Omega-3 fatty acids may reduce the risk of stroke.

Studies have clearly that men and women, a diet high in oily fish - to eat salmon, mackerel, sardines suffer, anchovies and tuna - heart disease and appear lessStroke. A study in the journal Circulation (American Heart Association) were published, have shown that eating fish regularly reduced the risk of heart disease in diabetic women as much as 64 percent.

Researchers at Chicago Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center found that older people who fish at least once a week, the risk for Alzheimer's disease can be reduced by eating more than half.

It is not necessary to eat fish every day to reap the rewards. According to a study in the Journal ofAmerican Medical Association, men who have a three VOR five ounces of fish to eat three times a month were 43 percent less likely to have a stroke within 12 years of follow-up. Men who ate fish often do not go further to reduce their risk.
