Okay, it's time to clear up the confusion Shortbread
and for all.
Today I went to a pot luck feast. I took the animals Tour, a
cake traditional French Canadian meat that my grandmother
used to do. A man said: "Oh man ... you have your
Sweetbreads! "I replied," No, that would be
OFFAL! "Nobody has my game with words, but I was pretty
pleased with myself.
People call my product (butter cookies), all sorts of things.

Sweetbreads are animal innards. They are often
thymus or pancreas of a pig or calf. You
have no connection with the pastry. I tried with a sweetbread
luxury restaurant and found it damn good. I had to try
again! I have no idea where the name of sweetbreads
comes.Vermont Shortbread Company does not
Sweetbreads produce.
Shortcake is a sweet pastry. It is usually friable
and made with flour, sugar, butter or other fat, milk or
Cream soda or baking powder. Strawberry
shortcake (fresh strawberries and whipped cream thrown
atop one of these biscuits) is a sweet summer
for Americans.
Shortbread (my delicacy), is a
traditional Scottish biscuitButter, sugar and
Flour. Our version contains Vermont Shortbread Company
much butter, they give a slightly viscous consistency. We fill our
Pastry with jam filling (raspberry and strawberry)
Chocolate, lemon ricotta, walnuts and cinnamon, almond, or leave
plain with no filling (traditional shortbread). I saw
Shortbread in many forms - a large, round "cake" (we call it a
Gift Box with VSC) in a form bakery that there is a drawing rather
reachedtriangular wedges called petticoat tails, small
round biscuits, or "fingers" (long, rectangular piece). A

In summary, Shortbread an elegant, classic, old
desserts fashioned, easy, has become a
Christmas favorite for many people, young and old. Enjoy
Your sweetbreads and Madeira cake, but buy
Shortbread.
